Victorian Christmas Market 2nd-3rd of Dec:
It is the 25th year that this Dickensian Christmas Market is up and running. From 10am - 7pm come down to Kelham Island to enjoy all the magic of a traditional Christmas Market with a twist. Located on the old cobbled streets, the traders will be dressed in Victorian outfits, so you really will feel like a cast member of Great Expectations! It is the perfect place to buy unusual, quirky gifts for your loved ones this Christmas. Not only are there 130 sensational festive stalls, there are vintage fairground rides, brass bands, entertainers and a delicious food market.
Here you can really get into the Christmas spirit by grabbing a warming cup of mulled wine, whilst listening to some traditional carols. The entrance price is £6 for adults, and the best part is... kids go free! Whether you are searching for that extra unique gift, fancy a travel back in time or want to visit Santa at his grotto, the Victorian Christmas Market will certainly provide all of this and more!
Sleigh bar & Thor's Tipi 17th of Nov - 24th of Dec:
Along with the Christmas markets along the main high street in Sheffield, at the very top we welcome back the Sleigh bar and Thor's Tipi! Back for another year, the Sleigh Bar is a fabulous recreation of a winter grotto. Open from 10am-10pm, this winter wonderland is sure to have something to warm everyone up this December. From hot chocolates, warm ciders and spiced mulled wines it is the perfect spot to hit after a long day Christmas shopping or even a great place to start off your work's Christmas party!
The pantomime - City Hall 27th of Dec- 7th of Jan:
The Manor Operatic society are back at the grand City Hall to perform this year's pantomime - Sleeping Beauty! The famous fairy-tale of the princess who fell asleep for years awaiting the kiss of her handsome prince to bring her back to life, is brought to you this December in Sheffield. Manor Operatic society have been performing the festive pantomime in Sheffield since 1970! With their famous interactive bucket game, songs, dances and all-round feel-good fun, it is a perfect outing for all the family this December.
The pantomime - Lyceum 8th of Dec - 7th of Jan:
With a star-studded cast, including Jake Canuso from the hit show Benidorm, Damian Williams the Sheffield comedy legend and many more, this year's Lyceum panto is Mother Goose! Many believe it is perhaps the oldest story to be turned into a pantomime, dating back to 1806 when it was first ever performed! The story goes that Mother Goose, and her beloved pet Priscilla, are to be thrown off their land as they cannot pay the bailiffs. As a magical fairy comes to help, Priscilla, the goose, begins to lay golden eggs! However, trouble lies ahead as Mother Goose is temped by the evil bady to exchange Priscilla for life long beauty. With loads of audience participation, special effects and plenty of "Its behind you"s, this panto is sure to be unmissable this Christmas!
Christmas Artisan Market Meadowhall 1st - 3rd of Dec:
Meadowhall is the perfect indoor shopping spot to get all your Christmas presents this December. With hundreds of shops, tons of restaurants and gallons of amazing Christmas decorations and festivities, it is all the just a stones throw away from the centre by tram. However this year, Christmas at Meadowhall is that little bit more fabulous! Meadowhall opens its doors for 3 days to welcome the spectacular artisan markets, with home baked cakes, artisan breads, home made pickles and hand crafted cheeses.
